Project DetailsAs the population shift in Mecklenburg County turned north in the late 70’s and early 80’s, the Community in Christ Lutheran Church congregation knew they needed to develop a long term plan for the facilities they would need for the congregational growth they expected. Stewart Cooper Newell Architects was hired to develope a phased masterplan to give the church a roadmap for their future. The first Phase included the design and construction of a multipurpose sanctuary/fellowship hall with portable furnishings. Educational space was also incorporated into this phase. The Second Phase added an administrative/educational wing. Phase 1 and 2 are completed and the third phase is planned to include a new sanctuary. This will leave the existing multipurpose room dedicated for a parish center. |
